Day 1 - Arrival in Switzerland - Montreux
Welcome to Switzerland. The alpine country that you have been watching in movies and reading about since childhood! Using your Swiss pass (unlimited access to Swiss public transport), take the train to Montreux. It’s a city from the lake to the mountains and vineyards. Montreux Riviera offers a postcard landscape, peaceful walks along a lakeshore blessed with 19th-century hotels, a mild microclimate, a hilltop Old Town, one of the world's premier jazz festivals, a fabulous 13th-century fortress, and the rest of the day at leisure. Day 2 - Montreux - visit to Glacier 3000
After breakfast, take a train for a visit to Glacier 3000. Excursion Glacier 3000 is a mountain area east of Montreux. There's a vast range of adventurous activities in both winter and summer. Some spectacular activities that are included in the cable car ticket, such as the Peak Walk over a high suspension bridge, the Ice Express hairlift, the Glacier Walk to the mountain restaurant Efuge l’Espace and the Sledges Fun Park. Later, you may enjoy the boat trip on the lake and a visit to Chillon Castle. The Lake Geneva region is a body of water of superlatives: mildest climate, largest lake, and lake with the largest amount of water in Central Europe, stretching from Geneva in the south to Villeneuve in the east. Several ferry and cruise services are available to make a wonderful day trip. Chillon Castle is a mediaeval fortress dating back to the 12th century. It’s located along Lake Geneva, close to Montreux, and is one of Switzerland’s most popular cultural destinations. Overnight Montreux.
Day 3 - Montreux – Zermatt
After breakfast, check out an proceed to train station to board your train to Zermatt on arrival proceed to the hotel. Zermatt is a car free luxurious alpine village surrounded by the highest peaks of Switzerland. The town's touristic development is closely linked to what is most probably the world's most famous mountain. The vacation destination is a car-free zone and has preserved its original character. Day 4 - Zermatt - the majestic Matterhorn
After breakfast, proceed to the Matterhorn Excursion. At 4,478 metres, the majestic Matterhorn – certainly the most famous mountain in Europe – looms over the breath-taking Alpine panorama. This Swiss landmark is at the border of the western Swiss canton of Valais between Zermatt and the Italian resort of Breuil-Cervinia, and offers a paradise for all nature-lovers looking for peace and quiet. Its symmetric pyramid shape, the rocky tooth reaching toward the sky and the light reflections of the nearby Stellisee make the Matterhorn’s landscape a unique natural spectacle in Zermatt. Day 5 - Zermatt to Lucerne – via Andermatt (Glacier Express)
Check out after breakfast and proceed to the train station to board the Glacier Express train from Zermatt to Andermatt.The Glacier Express is a direct train from Zermatt to St. Moritz. The train is also referred to as the "slowest express train in the world"; the journey takes about 8 hours. There is a good reason for this slow pace: the train squeezes its way through the Alps, through narrow valleys, tight curves, 91 tunnels, and across 291 bridges. At Andermatt, change the train and board the train to Lucerne. Overnight Lucerne.
Day 6 - Lucerne - visit Mt. Titlis
After breakfast, take the morning train to Engelberg to visit Mt. Titlis. TITLIS Rotair – the world's first revolving cable car, glacier cave, TITLIS Cliff Walk, Europe's highest suspension bridge, and TITLIS glacier park. Return to Lucerne by afternoon and head to the pier right next to the station. Your Swiss pass covers the boat cruise on Lake Lucerne. You’ll be fascinated by the scenery, the attractions of inland navigation, and the historical places dotted along the shoreline. On the outer deck, enjoy the breath of fresh air. In the evening, take a leisurely walk on the historical and wooden Kappelbrucke (Chapel bridge), see the famous Napoleon-era Lion Monument (a giant dying lion carved out of a wall of sandstone rock above a pond, designed as a memorial for the Swiss soldiers. Day 7 - Lucerne - Visit to the Stanserhorn
After breakfast, proceed to Stans, the starting point to reach the Stanserhorn, where you take the funicular and the cable car up the mountain. The cable car, called the Cabrio, has two decks. The upper deck is open and offers a great opportunity to take pictures. Optional Tour: Grindelwald First Take the train to Grindelwald for your first excursion. The Grindelwald First Lift is a 3-stage chair lift and was once the longest chair lift in Europe. Day 8 - Lucerne – Zurich
After breakfast, proceed to Zurich by train. The financial centre of Switzerland and also home of FIFA's headquarters, Zurich is abuzz with activity day and night with its countless events, diverse museums, its own food festival and Switzerland’s most vibrant nightlife. Once in Zurich, check into the hotel. Later, proceed to Schaffhausen by train to see the mightiest waterfall in Europe. The Rhine Falls is a waterfall located in Switzerland and is the most powerful waterfall in Europe. The falls are located on the High Rhine, on the border between the cantons of Schaffhausen and Zürich. Overnight Zurich Optional Tour: Mt Jungfraujoch Icey air streams across your face, snow crunches under your feet, and the view nearly takes your breath away: on one hand, the view of the Mittelland up to the Vosges, on the other, the Aletsch glacier, bordered by four thousand metre peaks. Standing on the Jungfraujoch, 3,454 metres above sea level, you can feel it with your first step: this is a different world. It's one you have to experience. The journey itself is unique in a way that gives you the full view of the alpine valley. You can reach Jungfraujoch from Grindelwald base station and return to Lauterbrunnen base station, or you can do vice-versa!
Day 9 - Zurich
After breakfast, check out and take the shuttle to the airport.
